Case Study: Paul McCartney On The Run Tour Production

Production management for Paul McCartney’s first-ever show at Yankee Stadium.
Two nights. Thirty-plus songs spanning The Beatles, Wings, and his solo catalog. A surprise appearance by Billy Joel. 19th & 7th’s Keith Shapiro served as Production Manager, handling a crew of 45 responsible for the live video and audio feeds for Paul McCartney’s historic debut at Yankee Stadium.

The Brief:

Among the production credits the 19th & 7th team carries is a first for one of the most famous artists alive. When Paul McCartney headlined Yankee Stadium for the first time, 19th & 7th’s Keith Shapiro served as Production Manager for the two-night run, a set of more than thirty songs spanning The Beatles, Wings, and his solo catalog, with a surprise appearance from Billy Joel.

The Approach:

For Keith, the job came down to precision. A crew of 45 needed to know exactly what was required of them and have every piece of equipment in place to do it. Alongside the crew ran a video truck recording the concert and feeding it live around the world, and an audio truck capturing the mix.
